Dear Jack,

    We finally reached Granada

Sat nite after being on the train For 3 days & 3 nights. It was a very long & tiring & uneventful trip with no scenery to speak of. We passed thru the Mojave decert, Nevada, Utah & Wyoming. They served us excellent food on the train.

    This camp isn’t prepared

for us yet so every thing is very discouraging & uncomfortable. Some of the barracks are down in the ground with dirt up to the windows. There isn’t enough water to go around so it’s a luxury to take a shower. No such thing as warm water. The drinking water is brought from town in tanks. Thanks loads for the grocery you sent & will you please send the bill here? It was certainly appreciated by everyone.
